Hey everyone!!
Hope you all are having a fabulous week!! I'm currently ripping my in-laws' bathroom apart so that it can be updated a bit, and let me tell you - I will NEVER buy a house that has wallpaper up. EVER. It's the WORST to get down, especially when some stupid head has wallpapered the freaking ceiling. I mean, really? WHO DOES THAT?!?! Okay, wallpaper rant over.
So I'm gonna tell you right now - this post is a random, jumbled mess. I feel the need to tell you about that skirt up there. It's actually a dress, I'm just too much of a giant to wear it the proper way. I've also worn it a total of like, 6 times in the past week and a half. So sue me - I'm a repeat offender. Anyway, I won it on Gentri Lee's blog during her birthday giveaways week.
Can I actually rewind to my wallpaper rant? Great, let me tell you some loves and hates for this week, and start there:
I love the feeling that you get after all the hideous wallpaper has been torn down.
I hate the process of tearing said wallpaper down [from the ceiling... wth].
I love that our new house has no wallpaper.
I hate that it smells like old people.
I love the heat and sunshine.
I hate that the 40 mph wind is keeping me from riding my bike.
I love the hilly terrain in Northeast Iowa when I'm out on the 4-wheeler.
I hate the hilly terrain when I'm attempting to ride my bike.
I love looking at furniture for our house.
I hate that we cannot afford any of it, and even if we had extra money, it would be going to student loans.
If you have any loves and hates, you can link them up over at Noël's blog.
Ooh, and now back to Gentri. I love doing the 7 questions every Wednesday - the questions are always so fun!
1. If you could be any princess- which would you be and why?
Ariel, duh! She's a freaking mermaid - do I really have to explain myself? Except instead of marrying Eric the lame-o, I would just stay a mermaid and live under the sea with Sebastian and Flounder forever.

2. Do you have any odd habits? (do things in order, words that you say too often, etc)
I have a routine that I follow when towel-drying, I load the dishwasher a certain way, and I say "Holy balls" far too often.
Ummm... jeans and a t-shirt. Or sweats if I'm spending the day at home.
I have three brothers - one older, two younger.
Diamonds. But... not just any diamond - my diamond.
Pay off student loans, buy a car, pay off the house, start college funds for our future children, pay for Mike's school, invest some of it, and put the rest in a savings account. I know, I know - boring answers, but that's what bills do to a person- they make us boring.
I'm actually pretty dang happy with my physical appearance. I think I like my legs and back best. I also like my height. And now I'm starting to sound like a self-absorbed lady-douche, so I'll shut up and show you the mandatory funny picture to redeem myself.
Happy Hump Day!!!

Wallpaper sucks. As does popcorn ceiling.
Happy Wednesday!
It's worse when you find out the wallpaper is holding the walls together! Have you got a steam machine?
I love your dress skirt....it's gorgeous.

Ha, that last picture made me giggle :)
Wallpaper situation sounds TERRIBLE! I love your skirt so jealous you won that!
I feel a compelling need to start calling people 'lady douches'.
haha! When you are talking old people smell are you talking moth balls, old lady perfume or dirty hair? Cute post!
Who the heck wallpapers a ceiling? A good daughter in law you are!
I love this post and hate that I too want to buy new furniture for our house, but it should go to student loans.... Don't we have 30 years to pay it off? hahaha
I would have said the same thing to number 6. When I read it, "Student loans" popped into my head. Those damn things are haunting me!

Gah, removing wallpaper sounds horrendous!
Very pretty ring : )
In LOVE with that dress/skirt. My favorite strapless dress is only ever used as a skirt and it's one of the few things from F21 that fits me.
I got roped into taking down all the wallpaper in the house I grew up in when I was around 12. That SUCKED.
LOVE that skirt! Hope you're having a blast in the Midwest!
Eric the lame-o. Hahahahaha!
I think wallpaper can look amazing if done right... but it is never right on the ceiling. Never.
I LOVE your skirt. LOVE.
Hey!! I still don't have my Christmas in July partner.. I was just wondering if I'm in it? (: email me? I have a contact page on my blog...
x.
I'm helping my mom renvate her house right now...Every room has or has had some sort of wall paper. It's AWFUL.
You WON that skirt?? Impressive!! I love it.
Hey!! I'm over from Truly Lovely & congrats on winning The Modern Muse award! I seriously cracked up about 5 times reading this post! You are too funny! Love your blog! ~Stacy
Dude - even though Eric is lame he is the hunkiest? You have to agree on that. PLEASE AGREE. But you're right - I'd marry Sebastian. He's feisty.
Our answers are somewhat similar so we can add sitting in sweats watching The Little Mermaid together - to our list of things to do if we lived closer.
I, too, do not like the process of re-doing a room, but I love how beautiful it looks when it's finished!
Thanks for sharing about yourself!
p.s. I hate wallpaper...no matter where it is! it's the worst invention ever! :)

Ha! Your house sounds like my house. We have a lot of 'What were they thinking??' moments!
LOVE your dress/skirt. :o) The pattern on it is very Indian-inspired! You wear it well!!!
Your pictures always make me laugh - and love your skirt!
I love tearing wallpaper down. :) But only from a wall, not the ceiling!
And I absolutely adore your skirt/dress! You look fabulous!
I think that it looks better as a skirt anyways, you look stylin!
Wallpaper on the ceiling, My parents have actually just bought a farm and in the house, the ceilings were wallpapered and seriously caked in glue coats!! My Mum, bless her soul, spent days getting it down and the pattern from the wallpaper is still there in whatever they slavvered all over it, crazy times!
Arghh... Wallpaper really is THE WORST to get off! It will be so nice to have those painted walls though. Love your rambled jumbled mess of a post. Ahh... Old people smell not the best smell. I would much prefer new baby smell which is the Johnson and Johnson baby wash smell, not the poopy diaper smell.LOL your mermaid pic, Eric really was a lame-o.
And so you were raised by boys... Ahhh... it all makes sense now why you are such the funny girl. You know my friend Shontell who blogs and Nonsense at It's Finest has 3 brothers too. Girls with lots of brothers make for some of the funnest people I know :)
Alyx you really are so great!
Thank you so much for linking up.
Pshaw.. there's NOTHING wrong with loving yourself! And please.. I'd die tearing wallpaper off the walls. We had to peel up this nasty tile from our floors and it took us forever.. and it was in the entire house. Perks of having an old house! Not.
I'm just going to say one thing, or I guess ask one thing...why does wallpaper even exist?!
I love those pictures of you - you are so pretty! And I would totally wear that dress/skirt you're wearing, the print is awesome!
The wallpaper sounds INSANE. And yea, you know you're a functional adult when you suddenly don't want to spend a million dollars on your own mall or thousands pairs of shoes. Although that sounds nice now too....

I have a hard time knowing where to start on this one. I think we're going to go with list format so that I can gather my thoughts. K, here we go:
1) The fact that you enjoy riding a bike and hate riding on rolling hills is the nail in the twin coffin. I am so glad I found my missing half
2)I'm left handed. I heard once that most left-handed people should have been mirror image twins, but the other twin didn't make it. Are you my mirror-image twin who looks nothing like me and has a different family and birthday? Okay, we got off subject. Next thing.
3)That skirt. Awesome. I'm going to have to buy one.
4)They now make wallpaper that's designed for places like apartments, where it has to be able to come off really easily. However, I'm pretty sure getting ANYTHING off of a ceiling, or out of a room exposed to ultra high humidity is terrible, no matter what type of wallpaper you use.
4)You would be amazed at the furniture you can find at thrift stores for dirt cheap. We should go. I'm talking a solid walnut vanity from the 30's for $12.
5)I wanted to be part of Ariel's world.
6)This has turned into a really long comment. But I'm done now. I think.
Love these pictures pretty girl! Oh, and I love heat and the sun too!
I HATE PEELING WALLPAPER! I spent a good part of summer a couple of years ago and it totally sucked!!! See, I'm still mad about it.
I hate wallpaper! I spent my childhood scraping wallpaper off of all the walls in my parent's house--horrible! Then I married a guy who really likes wallpaper. Like the victorian flowery fruity kind of wallpaper. I don't understand at all.
lmao @that picture!!!!!
The pictures of you are BEAUTIFUL in this post. I love them all!
That is one of the coolest skirts I've ever seen!!! Then I read on further and see it's actually a dress... Still the coolest skirt I've ever seen! LOVE it!
