In case you forgot, here are the characters involved (and you can add "The New Girl" to that list):
"Alyx..." she whispered, then, "ALYX!" It was almost a shout, and I knew there was something wrong. Being the wuss that I am, I automatically assumed there was a spider ready to wreak havoc, so I jumped out of my cubicle and turned around to look. Just as I turned around, there he was - the totally vicious, blood-thirsty menace - THE MOUSE. He looked a little like this:
He scurried behind my drawers, and I ran away, shrieking and whimpering like a little girl. I almost trampled The Blonde as I was sprinting away from my desk. Eventually The New Girl got the courage to go investigate (by "investigate" I obviously mean kick a bunch of stuff until the blood-thirsty fiend was scared s***less and ran away to torture some other poor soul).
We put down a sticky mouse trap, I moved my purse out of my bottom drawer, and I kept my feet 3 inches off the floor for the rest of the day. And so far, we have managed to live happily ever after.
...Until he strikes again.

In other news, it's that time of the month (dude. I'm pregnant... not that time of the month).
For December book club, we are going to do something a little different. The theme for this month is:
Instead of picking one book, we can all read whatever we want, as long as it fits the theme. If you so desire, you can review the book and the movie, and link both up on the last Tuesday of December. We figured this would be an easy way to get around those pesky library waiting lists. Plus, it's a great way to pick up one of those books you've been meaning to read.
Another way we have decided to get past those waiting lists is by picking the books a couple of months in advance. That would be why we are asking you for your book suggestions for January and February now.

OMG!!!! Well, I actually would have preferred a mouse to a cockroach or spider...
Eww! I hope you catch that mouse!
Yep, I would have screamed like a little girl!
Wow! Mouse in the office?! There was one time that our NY office thought it had bedbugs. You should have seen the people FREAK - it was like the bubonic plague had struck
Ahaha your subject line is perfect! But sorry to hear you had a mouse in the office. I heard a year or two our office has roaches. Yuck.
Love the idea of book turned movie! Hopefully I can come up with something that I haven't read yet but wanted to! Otherwise I'll just review one I've already read. :) Like The Golden Compass! love that book series but it was a crap movie
This post made me laugh. Out loud. At the office. Then I got in trouble for reading it at work. Until I showed my coworkers what it was. They all laughed. The end.
Plus I love our genius, "we're totally getting this under control" stuff with the Book Club. Look how legit we are!
I like December's book theme! Awhile ago I read Something Borrowed and haven't gotten around to renting the movie. This gives me an excuse.
Maybe I could reread The Devil Wears Prada...
Mice scare the bejeezus out of me... the BEJEEZUS!
That's so scary! I encountered one at my last place when my roommates were horrible slobs and left food everywhere. Worst/scariest experience hearing them scratch through the walls ugh I'm getting creeped out just typing this!
Loveee your coworker descriptions! I only wish I could do something like this but at least 10 of my coworkers read my blog pretty regularly so I'd get found out quite quickly :-/
Dude... that's terrible. We have office spiders, like the same set of a dozen, because my co-workers insist on "setting them free" 12 feet away from the building.
I work with geniuses, if you couldn't already tell. Genuis Mr. Miagi's who won't even squash a spider. They don't hesitate to hand out copious numbers of mouse traps to our residents, though. Go figure.
Ahhh! I would have freaked out also!
AH! I would've screamed! Not a fan of those little guys!
omg i always thought if i ever saw a mouse id be like big deal! theyre so cute. but one night a couple months ago i was at felipes alone and i turned on the kitchen light and a MOUSE ran behind the stove. i obviously screamed, ran into his bedroom, locked myself in and didn't come out until he came home and assured me i was hallucinating (i assure i was not!) glad you survived it!Lol
Oh dear! a mouse in the office...Eeeeep!
Also, this is from like five posts ago (what, I'm a bit lax on my blog commenting these days), but I LOVE your weekly bump pictures. they make me laugh and make me so happy for you!
LOL! I love your little stick people and descriptions of your coworkers :3 I need to do that, instead of just saying "that person who is in my class" XD
GAH! I would have had the exact same reaction.
I LOVE that you're writing about your coworkers now too. Although your descriptions seem to be a lot kinder than mine. :) Probably a good thing.
